My story begins like this...growing up, I was a natural athlete with a passion for sports that eventually led to a desire for fitness. I recall at 15 I wanted so badly to join a competitive AA hockey team. Although I was a skillful player with the ability to score goals, I was rejected due to lack of size. I was so disappointed; my confidence was ruined. Feeling sorry for myself, I was determined to change my life.
The journey began. I started reading books, watching YouTube videos, and reading articles online about gaining lean muscle and getting strong. Shout out to Steve Cook and his “Big Man On Campus Program” for getting me started in the gym.
I learned how to strength train properly, how to set realistic goals and challenges, and the importance of nutrition. By 2016, with purpose, I gained over 40 pounds of muscle. With this newfound confidence, I competed in my first bodybuilding competition in the men’s physique division. I ended up placing first in the teenager category and third in the men’s.
That year I became a personal trainer! Holding 5 training and nutrition certifications. I also gained valuable experience working with clients ranging from elite-level athletes to senior citizens.
